About & privacy

Where the apps come from

Appvero lists iOS apps found in Apple’s public App Store charts and feeds, with details from Apple’s public lookup service. App names, icons, descriptions, prices and ratings belong to their developers and come from the App Store; they can be out of date, and prices and availability differ by country.

Appvero is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc., and is not paid to list or rank any app.

Where Rising, Deals and Indie come from

Appvero records the App Store’s public top free, top paid and category charts in Australia, the US, the UK, Canada and China several times a day. Rising lists the apps that moved up furthest against the charts about a day earlier; the positions are Apple’s, the comparison is ours. Deals are price changes Appvero has seen itself by checking every paid app’s price on each update. Indie lists well-rated apps from developers with only a few apps, plus apps we picked; no one pays to be listed or picked.

Submitting an app

When you submit an app, Appvero stores its App Store ID, your note and, if you give one, your email address. The email is only used to tell you about your submission, is never shown or shared, and is deleted on request.

What we measure

There are no accounts, no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics. Appvero records, anonymously:

  • which app pages are opened, and the referring website (its address only, not the page);
  • clicks through to the App Store;
  • search terms and how many results they found.

To count visitors rather than page loads, your browser keeps a random identifier for 30 days. It is not linked to you, your device or any other site, and no cookies are used. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, nothing is recorded at all.
