About
ShutterTrace is a field notebook for photography. Plans, Places, Light, Portfolio, and More keep a shoot idea separate from the places, light notes, and photographs you add.
Plans holds a date, a shoot type, and the kit you intend to take. A checklist is yours to tick off. Starting a session records the time you actually spend. Drafts stay separate from completed shoots.
Places are saved from Apple Maps or from coordinates you enter. A viewpoint can be marked on the map. A GPS trail runs only while you opt in and the app is open. It pauses in the background.
Light estimates sunrise, sunset, and golden and blue hours from the place and date. These are local solar calculations. They do not include terrain, clouds, or a weather forecast. Weather notes are temperatures, cloud, and wind that you write down.
Portfolio imports photographs you choose. It can show camera details already stored in the file, and you assign scene tags yourself. An edit saves a new JPEG copy. Crop, brightness, contrast, saturation, and rotation are available. It does not develop RAW files. Originals in Photos stay where they are.
More keeps inspiration, an equipment list, and counts from the sessions you finish. There is no account and no automatic cloud sync. You can export a local backup and merge it back later.
